1. Please provide a brief description of yourself and your role as VP, Treasury Sales Analyst at John Marshall Bank.

I am the Vice President, Treasury Sales Analyst. I graduated from George Mason University and joined JMB in November of 2015.

In my role, I oversee the onboarding of new commercial clients and manage our Purchase Card Program.  In addition, I facilitate and conduct training sessions of various treasury services to both customers and bank employees.  JMB is a community bank focused on delivering the best customer service and I ensure a positive service experience for our commercial clients.   

2. What led you to the banking profession?

I followed in my sister’s footsteps and I learned that Banks do not open on Sundays!

3. Who is the most influential person you know?  How do they inspire you?

My parents are the most influential people I know. Growing up, my parents taught me many valuable lessons.  They taught me to work hard and never give up. They always encouraged me to reach my potential and to succeed in anything I chose to pursue.  Their sacrifices have allowed me to be where I am today.

4. What advice do you have for those who want to grow/begin their career in the finance/banking industry?

I would encourage folks to be open-minded, show initiative, and get out of their comfort zone. There are many different aspects of banking and finance. As you navigate through your career, look for what interests you and try it out.

5. Please describe your involvement in the community.

I enjoy working with children and making an impact in their lives.  I am a Head Basketball coach for Gainesville Basketball and Northern Virginia Soccer Club (NVSC). In the past, I have been a Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer, a mentor at an elementary school, and have taught financial literacy at several schools.

6. What’s one childhood lesson that you still practice to this day?

Always do your best and give it your all.  If you give your full effort every time, you can be happy with the results.  

7. What are you most proud of in your career as a Treasury Sales Analyst or previous positions? 

I take joy in seeing people succeed and be empowered. As a branch manager at my previous financial institution, I had the privilege of coaching several of my employees and helped them to advance to the next level and earn promotions.

8. You get to have dinner with one famous person. Who do you choose and what would you ask them?

 Kobe Bryant. I would ask him what has attributed to his success in all facets of his life (basketball, business, and family).

9. What’s the best part of being a dad?

Always having someone grab a snack for me or the remote control is great!  Also, they are mini versions of myself so that’s definitely fun!  Watching my kids learn, grow, and witnessing their tiny victories on a daily basis is extremely satisfying for me. Being a Dad is easily the most rewarding, yet the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.

10. What is the funniest question your child(ren) has asked you?

If you have kids, you know they really do say the craziest things. My oldest son asked me the other day “Dad, how do I really know that you are my Dad? I mean, I know I came out of my mommy’s tummy but were you really there?”
